| Rob knew Ian years ago from doing studio work with him and also played in an original band with him called BigMouth. They both left the band in November of 1993 and wanted to put something together to make some quick money. They had a keyboard player at the time but he didnt work out. So they began a hunt for a guitarist and a lead singer/guitarist. Rob knew Bill from years ago. They had played together in many original bands since they were young. But Rob had heard that Bill wasnt living in New York at the time so they started to audition guitar players. About a month of ghastly auditions later Rob heard that Bill was back in town so he called him and invited him to be the next member. And guess who Bill's roommate was? None other than Steve. Steve came down and jammed with Rob, Ian and Bill a few times and it worked out well and in January of 1994 Kabang was born! The name Kabang originally came from a band Rob was in several years before. The band was all original and when they broke up Rob continued with the name. "I figured it would fit the cover band cause we wanted to come out explosive...hence...KABANG!" |
